TideMoor is led by Director Lois Kirtlan, an experienced business leader, event curator and communtiy development professional with over 30 years experience across the private, public, hospitality, education and charity sectors.
Lois brings together commercial experience, creativity and a strong understanding of communities to create events and intitiatives that have a genuine purpose and lasting impact.

Her expertise spans event design, curation, PR, and marketing, giving her a unique ability to craft experiences that leave lasting impressions while driving tourism and engagement.
Lois’ work goes beyond her own hospitality business. She has successfully transformed venues into dynamic spaces for events, including her multi-award-winning restaurant and venue, Hetty & Betty. Here, she pioneered standout experiences such as the iconic Fish and Chips Afternoon Tea, demonstrating how creativity and attention to detail can create events that capture imaginations and become must-visit attractions.

Lois is the founder and Chair of the Whitby Lit Fest, which she established in 2024. In its first year (2025), the festival brought internationally recognised authors and speakers to Whitby.
She is also Managing Director of award-winning hospitality business Hetty & Betty.
This combination of commercial experience, community understanding and event expertise allows TideMoor to approach projects from btoh sides: understanding the needs of organisations while creating experiences that geniunely enagge audiences and communities.
